Rebirthing is an extraordinarily powerful breathwork practice. It has been called the "Kriya Yoga of the modern age". Leonard Orr is the founder of Rebirthing beginning in the 1970s. He discovered that by connecting the inhale and exhale in a circular powerful breath for an hour that enormous shifts took place.
The body takes in twice as much oxygen while remaining still and this alters the body chemistry temporarily which opens up portals to the subconscious and metaphysical worlds. The breath creates a bridge to hidden parts of ourselves, awakening ancient emotions, trapped desires. Once the subconscious begins to rise to consciousness great healing can take place.
An immersion into a consciously connected breathing practice helps release "memories" from the cells and rejuvenates the body.
The IBF provides a structure through which breath workers from around the world can share their growing body of breathwork knowledge. The IBF supports the development of breathwork in all its forms. New forms of breathwork emerge all the time and the IBF provides a platform for teaching and learning as well as networking.
The British Rebirth Society promotes the art of conscious breath through the practice of Rebirthing Breathwork and supports its practitioners throughout the UK and worldwide.
The Society and its members uphold professional standards for the therapeutic practice of Rebirthing Breathwork.
